18-01-10 – *Puts on business hat* / *Socialises*
Bonjour, y’all! How’s life and the internet treating you? For me, it’s entailed…
- Posting 5 boyinaband videos
- Announcing the winner of the Hip Hop Composition competition
- Watching the incredible “Avatar”
- Going to Tamworth to catch up with my uni homeslices
- Recording all of the basslines to YAWA’s new EP
- Not having YAWA practice on Sunday 
- Rachie surprising me with a… surprise.
- Having a big group hangout on Saturday 
Axe Fx Ultra = considerable time drainage
Man! I thought for this week “I know, I’ll bosh out 7 videos about the axe fx no problem, make it a themed week and boyinaband will be well on the way to having one video a day!”
I managed alright with the unboxing and then on tuesday I recorded Kieran playing through the presets, but I had to stretch the presets out to 4 days worth of videos, both because there were so many good ones and because when I started on my video review, I didn’t stop. It took me:
11-01-10 – Binary Date :D / Boyinaband is Better!
Wow, what a binary-esque date!
This week, I got up to some work-related hi-jinks!
- Released the new boyinaband site!
- …Which involved making all the content
- …and recording a video about me!
- Judged the Hip Hop Composition Competition.
- Recorded some guitar for YAWA with the Axe Fx.
- Came up with some ideas for the first YAWA music video
- Spent 3 days with Rachie and watched “Daybreakers”
- Played 4 player Mario on the Wii for the first time
Release Day!
Yay! After weeks of toiling I’ve finally released the new and improved [Boyinaband.com] site design!
I couldn’t quite get it looking nice in Internet Explorer 7 and below, but I figure anyone still on there and not using Google Chrome or firefox yet should probably switch anyway. So their nerdy friends don’t make fun of them, you understand – I’m only looking out for their credibility.

New Years P. A. R. T. Y.
Rachie’s friend invited both her and me to a party on new years. Now, in my experience, new years involves sitting at home watching a Bill Bailey DVD (I actually got another one this year, watched it on Christmas though.) – this year was slightly different.
30-11-09 – That girl is my Indie Cindie (She’s not actually Indie though. Or called Cindie.)
What’s happened then?
- Got a Girlfriend 
- Had my sampler break O_O
- Supported Hadouken!
- Got “Dragon Age” and completed it.
- Tried out Google Wave!
- Made a ton of guitar tone tutorial videos
David’s got a Girlfriend!
I’ll try not to make this soppy, since I know I wouldn’t want to read several paragraphs of someone obsessing over the new love interest in their life.
I’m now with a girl called Rachel. It’s kinda cool how we met – it’s through YAWA. You see, she saw me play the “Generation: Summer Slam” show maybe 2 years ago at the Wulfrun Hall. Maybe a year later, she decided to come see YAWA play live at the little civic with a few friends…

Man, my 7 day songs are usually intense experiences, especially combined with attempting to keep up a normal social life, gigging with YAWA and… uh… sleeping and eating, but this was something else.

Papa Roach
For my birthday, my homegirl Rachie got me a ticket to go and see Papa Roach with her and my other homegirl, Louise. This week entailed that show – and it was ace.
Not so much for the first bands – a rock group whose collective ego could outweigh your average steam liner and Madina Lake who, whilst seeming lovely people, managed to play a set that I forgot 3 seconds after it was over. Barring the guy’s scream, that was pretty good.
